YOKOHAMA, Japan (December 5, 2012) – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced the launch of the all-new Nissan Sylphy, which goes on sale today at Nissan dealers throughout Japan.

The all-new sedan will be sold in approximately 120 countries, including the USA, Japan, China and Thailand. Sylphy is one of Nissan’s global core models, along with the new compact Note (released in September) and the new Latio compact sedan (introduced in October).

Featuring an elegant and sophisticated design and class-above comfort, the Sylphy is powered by the newly developed 1.8L MRA8DE engine. The new powerplant is matched with a next-generation XTRONIC CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with sub-planetary gear, delivering powerful and smooth driving.

The Sylphy for the Japanese market is produced in Nissan’s Oppama Plant in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture.

Key features of the new Sylphy:
Design in pursuit of true sedan beauty
With its premium-feel front grille, LED-accented headlamps, large rear combination lights and a flowing character line, the new Sylphy exterior expresses a sophisticated sedan style. Compared with the previous generation model, the new model is 15mm lower in height and 65mm wider in width, giving it well-balanced sedan proportions.

Within the spacious and comfortable interior, Sylphy’s high-quality, refined cabin features a seamless, integrally molded instrumental panel and detailed meter design.

Class-above comfort
Sylphy’s optimized interior layout creates ample rear legroom that is comparable to that of a sedan one class above. Interior spaciousness is further enhanced with shoulder room that is increased by 30mm from the previous model. Ride comfort is also improved by reducing vibration with strengthened body rigidity, enhancing quietness with efficiently placed acoustic insulation and utilization of a vibration-absorbing suspension. Other features, including a Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) system and air conditioner outlet for the rear seats, which are also offered on Fuga and Teana, create a comfortable cabin for all passengers. Enhanced visibility and ease of driving is provided by large windows and the slope of the hood, which allows the driver to easily grasp the vehicle shape.

YOKOHAMA, Japan (Oct. 24, 2013) – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced the launch of the all-new Nissan X-Trail, which goes on sale in December at Nissan dealers throughout Japan.

Targeting young customers who enjoy outdoor sports, the new X-Trail is a continuously evolving authentic SUV. In addition to the well-received ALL MODE 4x4i, an advanced chassis control is adopted, delivering excellent driving performance in nearly any situation. Maintaining water-repellent floor and seats as well as large-capacity water-repellent luggage space, the new X-Trail offers flexible luggage area that can easily be portioned and a large console box as evolved gear to comfortably support enjoyment of outdoor sports. In addition, Safety Shield inspired technologies, including Around View Monitor with Parking Assist, helping drivers experience more confidence when manuevering in various situations.

Highlights of the new X-Trail:

X-Trail adopts Nissan’s well-recognized four-wheel drive system, ALL MODE 4x4i, as previous generation models, with Hill Start Assist, Advance Hill Descent Control, and Yaw Moment Control. Advanced technologies, including world’s first Active Ride Control and Active Engine Brake, and Cornering Stability Assist, are adopted in all grades to significantly improve riding comfort and drivability .

With flexible luggage area that can be custom-portioned depending on size and the type of luggage, and increased storage space including pockets and cup holders, customer convenience is enhanced. Adoption of a hands-free remote-controlled back door enables a person with the Intelligent Key to easily open it just by waving a hand or an object near the sensor even when holding a package. This can be utilized in various situations from daily driving to outdoor activities. Fatigue caused by long-distance driving is reduced by newly-developed Spinal Support Front Seats. In addition to two-row five-passenger grades, three-row seven-passenger grades are newly added.

X-Trail supports enhanced safety and security while driving in various situations with the adoption of the Emergency Brake, Emergency Assist for Pedal Misapplication, LDW (Lane Departure Warning) and Do-not-enter Sign Detection systems available together at an affordable price. BSW (Blind Spot Warning) and Driver Attention Alert are also offered as optional features. With newly-adopted Nissan first Around View Monitor with Parking Assist, a driver does not need to turn the steering wheel when parking in a garage or parallel parking. It makes parking much easier. The Advanced Drive-Assist Display also provides a variety of vehicle information to support driving

As for environmental performance, fuel-saving technologies, including direct-injection MR20DD engine, Idling Stop, the new XTRONIC CVT, reduced driving load and light-weight body, help achieve best fuel efficiency*1 of 16.4 km/L*2. Based on the dual-pillar strategy of “zero emissions” and PURE DRIVE*4, Nissan continues its efforts to reduce CO2 emissions throughout its product lineup. The new X-Trail is one of Nissan’s PURE DRIVE models.

Advanced equipment

• Equipped with Emergency Brake which helps reduce the risk of frontal collisions. When the system detects a risk of collision with a vehicle or a pedestrian with the front view camera, it alerts the driver to take action using a visual warning and audible buzzer. If the driver does not act upon the warnings, the braking system is activated to help avoid a collision or reduce damage caused by collision if one is unavoidable. • BSW (Blind Spot Warning) is adopted, which alerts the driver if a vehicle is detected in his/her blind spot. Using the rear view camera, it can detect a vehicle in the rear or to the side of the X-Trail and alert the driver by illuminating the side mirror indicator lights. When there is a vehicle detected in the blind spot area and the driver activates the turn signal to move in that direction, the system warns the driver by blinking the indicator light and providing an audible warning. (factory-installed option)
• Adoption of Driver Attention Alert which alerts the driver with visual and audible warnings if it detects vehicle steering input which may suggest driver inattention. (factory-installed option)
• Adoption of Do-not-enter Sign Detection, which judges when a vehicle is likely to enter a street that it is prohibited to enter using sign detection enabled by a front view camera, then warns the driver with a visual display and audible buzzer. Toyota developed and launched the new C-HR^*1 at all Toyota, Toyopet, Toyota Corolla, and Nets dealers nationwide across Japan on December 14 (2016). The C-HR is also scheduled to be used as a management vehicle at the 93rd Tokyo-Hakone collegiate ekiden (relay marathon) championship on January 2 and 3, 2017.

The C-HR is the second vehicle that has been developed with the TNGA platform^*2. The Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) is part of Toyota’s company-wide program to structurally transform automobile design in line with the company’s goal of the making ever-better cars. Even though it shares the same platform with the fourth-generation Prius^*3 (the first TNGA-based vehicle), Toyota has realized the original feel in terms of the C-HR’s driving performance through repeated driving tests being conducted on various types of roads around the world, and tuning the shock absorbers through test drives conducted on public roads in Europe. The driving performance of the C-HR has been thoroughly enhanced, focusing on the ideas of “Response, Linearity and Consistency”^*4 in order to achieve the key design concept of responsive driving performance.

More customers are placing greater emphasis on the interior and exterior styling of vehicles within the compact SUV market segment, where the C-HR is being classified under. In line with this, the C-HR was developed with a complete focus on design as well. The exterior design, in particular, reflects the thoughts of the designer. With the “Sensual Speed-Cross”^*5 concept, the design of the C-HR features a diamond architectural theme, and the modulated structure of the cabin gives it an exciting feel. The three-dimensional structure created by the contrast between the strongly tapered body based on the diamond architectural theme, together with the pronounced flaring of the wheel arches gives the new crossover a distinctive outline with an extremely powerful stance.

The latest model of the FJ Cruiser marks the vehicle’s special specification “Final Edition” model and features a special shade of beige throughout the interior and exterior of the vehicle that creates a distinctive sense of modernity.

• The special specification “Final Edition” model adopts a select beige color for the exterior, seat upholstery, and the center cluster trim. To add further appeal, black coating has been applied extensively in the interior and exterior, and special 20-inch aluminum wheels and side steps are included.

The partially redesigned Land Cruiser Prado, sporting a new, refined exterior that lends an air of strength and innovation to the vehicle, also now comes with the Toyota Safety Sense P collision avoidance support package as standard in all grades.

• The new exterior design further enhances strength and innovation.
  • The center of the hood is shaped in a way that takes forward visibility into account, while the front of the vehicle exudes power aided by the conjoined large front grille and headlamps. Other new features include LEDs for the headlamps in all cars and 19-inch aluminum wheels (machine-cut highlights and dark gray metallic coating)³.
  • The rear design suppresses the protrusion of the combination lamp and realizes a more stable stance through modification of the trim design.
• The interior has a more advanced design, particularly the instrument panel.
  • Lowering the upper part of the air vent ring (air conditioning outlet) improves visibility. In addition, the thin, tablet-style design of the navigation display adds a modern tone to the interior. Metal highlights have been added to the center cluster and dashboard to increase the premium feel.
  • The steering wheel was designed with attention to ease of grip, and its new appearance blends seamlessly with the instrument panel.
• The vehicle supports safe driving through the inclusion of the Toyota Safety Sense P collision avoidance support package and Drive-Start Control as standard features, together with the new addition of the Blind Spot Monitor⁴.
• The exterior panels come in a total of nine colors including the new Blackish Ageha Glass Flake (option color) and Avant Garde Bronze Metallic. The interior specifications adopt two colors including Neutral Beige.
• For the first time, the Land Cruiser series uses Torsen^®5 limited-slip differential for the rear differential with the option to select between five driving modes (Normal, Eco, Comfort, Sport S, and Sport S+) depending on driving conditions and are included as standard on the TZ-G to enhance driving pleasure.
• The diesel vehicle grade system has been revised with the addition of a 7-seater to the TX and a 5-seater to the TX L Package.
