Francis is the Managing Director of Croton Motors. In this capacity he oversees all business operations, offering strategic guidance to drive sales strategy and business generation.
He brings extensive automobile experience to this role, fueled by over 15 years in the field of ICT. Further, he reads and speaks fluent Japanese, having lived and worked in Japan for 10 years. This gives Croton Motors a unique advantage when buying vehicles from Japanese auctions, and negotiating with Japanese dealers and partners.
Francis previously worked for the Softbank Group in Tokyo, with his flagship project being the development of a B2C vehicle listing website (Trade Carview) which revolutionized online sales of Japanese cars to the rest of the world.
Before founding Croton Motors (formerly trading as Jap Imports Ltd), He established and run Excia E.A Ltd, a Japanese car import company that popularized Japanese auctions among dealers in the Kenyan automobile market.
He holds a Diploma in IT from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology (JKUAT) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Media from the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Oita, Japan.
While not at work, Francis grows vegetables in Laikipia- both for the local market and for export. He also enjoys hiking, camping, planting trees, playing chess and watching nature programs.
Sophie is the Operations Director at Croton motors. In this capacity she handles vehicle logistics both for imports and local sales. She is also in charge of the day-to-day running of the company including liaising with clients as well as overseas and local partners.
Sophie obtained her bachelor’s degree from the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Oita, Japan. She later attended graduate school at the International University of Japan in Niigata, a place famously known as ‘snow country’.
During her 8-year stay in Japan she got the chance to interact with different cultures and travel to different parts of the world. Most importantly, working in Japan exposed her to the incomparable Japanese work ethic, from which she drew lasting life lessons. She strives to approach her work at Croton Motors the same way.
While not at work, Sophie enjoys jogging, hiking and camping with her family. She is not exactly sure when she crossed over to the ‘outdoorsy side’. She spends way too much time watching baking shows with her kids, and trying out new recipes.
As far as dream cars go- she is still undecided but it has to be a car that won’t struggle with the numerous speed bumps on Kenyan roads.
Meet Charity, the Sales Manager who knows how to get things done. She is known for her exceptional leadership skills, her ability to motivate her team and her extensive knowledge of the car sales industry.
As a Sales Manager, Charity is responsible for overseeing the sales team and ensuring that thedealership meets its sales goals. She leads by example and is always willing to roll up her sleeves and help out when needed.
Charity’s sales tactics are unique. She doesn’t believe in high pressure sales tactics or pushing customers into buying a car they don’t want. Instead, she encourages her team to take the time to get to know their customers and their needs. She believes that building a relationship with customers is the key to
making a sale.
She has a degree in Education Arts from The University of Eldoret and a Diploma in Digital Marketing. Her expertise comes in handy as she is an outgoing and interactive person.
Aside from work, she is a mom and enjoys spending quality time with her family, baking and having friends over for a glass of wine.
